Governor of Khartoum Inspects “Al-Hur” Market
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Khartoum Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza inspected “Al-Hur” market in the village of Al-Manara, located on the North Highway in western rural Omdurman, on Monday. The governor commended the market’s traders for meeting the needs of citizens, which contributed to the region’s stability. These traders had previously operated in Omdurman markets, from which they were expelled, and their shops looted by the rebellious militia. The governor pledged to officially plan the market and grant the traders their shops in recognition of their role in serving citizens under the difficult circumstances of the war.
In another context, the governor saluted mosques and Quranic schools for their continued presence and for providing education and aid to Quranic students. During his visit to the Sheikh Al-Rifa’i Quranic schools in western rural areas, he affirmed the state’s support for mosques and schools that withstood the rebel militias and preserved the role of religious institutions.
