Sudan Events – News Updates
In a report presented to the High Emergency and Crisis Management Committee in Khartoum State during its meeting (Wednesday), chaired by Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza, the electricity department confirmed the completion of maintenance for transmission stations and high-voltage lines that caused the programmed electricity outages. With the completion of this maintenance, the electricity supply is expected to stabilize.
The meeting praised the workers in the electricity transmission and distribution sector, who worked for twenty consecutive days under extremely challenging conditions and with limited resources, but whose accumulated expertise contributed to the continuity of the service.
Meanwhile, the meeting reviewed efforts to improve conditions in the Al-Halfaya and North Bahri areas by providing food support for relief centers and healthcare, as well as working to restore electricity and water supplies. The committee also emphasized the continuation of cleaning operations and the implementation of spraying campaigns to reduce malaria infections.
