Sudan Announces Readiness to Transport South Sudan’s Oil

Sudan has announced its readiness to transport oil from South Sudan’s fields to the global market via ships at Bashair Port in Port Sudan. This was stated by the Sudanese Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohi Eldin Neim, on Sunday at the Bashair Oil Export Terminal during a meeting with a delegation from South Sudan led by President Salva Kiir’s Security Advisor, Tut Gatluak, accompanied by the Minister of Petroleum, the Director-General of Intelligence, and other technical experts.
The Sudanese Minister affirmed the longstanding relationship between the two nations, highlighting oil as a crucial link. He praised the cooperation between the petroleum ministries and companies from both countries, ensuring the smooth flow of crude oil from South Sudan to export ports. Tut Gatluak expressed his gratitude to Sudan’s Ministry of Energy and Oil and the Bashair pipeline company, stressing the importance of resuming oil exports to alleviate the difficult situation in South Sudan.
