On Monday, activists accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia of overrunning towns and villages in the eastern part of Al-Jazirah State.
A statement issued by the Resistance Committees of the city of Rufaa indicated that the RSF militia targeted towns and villages in eastern Al-Jazirah since Sunday evening, leading to the militia once again violating the region with what appears to be retaliatory operations.
The statement highlighted that villages like “Al-Junaid Al-Hilla and Al-Azaybah, in addition to the cities of Tamboul and Rufaa,” were assaulted, resulting in the death of at least five people, including an engineer working at the dialysis center in Tamboul, with dozens more injured.
Eyewitnesses told Sudan Tribune that the RSF militia stormed Tamboul, raiding homes and firing at civilians in the main market, while Sudanese army warplanes intervened, striking several locations in the city.
Consistent reports from various sources confirmed casualties among civilians who attempted to resist the attacking forces.
