Fleeing Militia Shelling, Displaced Seek Refuge at Zamzam Camp

Sudan Events – Agencies
Dozens of families fleeing El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, due to artillery shelling by the RSF militia, have been forced to live in unprecedented dire conditions under the trees at Zamzam Camp for the displaced.
Regina Deng, a South Sudanese refugee who fled the Union High School Girls’ compound in El-Fasher, told Darfur24 that those fleeing the war, especially the continuous artillery shelling by the RSF militia, are paying the price in the open space of Zamzam.
She added, “We receive minimal aid that does not meet our needs due to the overcrowding at the camp, as more residents of El-Fasher continue to flee, especially with the intensification of shelling in recent days.”
