The IGAD envoy to Sudan, Lawrence Korbandi, announced that Sudan’s return to IGAD is under consideration, as it will facilitate the organization’s full role in resolving the Sudanese crisis. In an interview with “Sudan Tribune,” Korbandi emphasized the importance of Sudan’s return to IGAD, highlighting its role in preventing the internationalization of the Sudanese issue, especially since Sudan is a founding member of the organization. The special envoy also confirmed IGAD’s ability to resolve all issues within its member states, citing its historical successes. He also mentioned that they are working on arranging a meeting between Burhan and Hemedti.
