Egypt Condemns Militia Violations in Eastern Al-Jazeera

Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the “brutal attacks” carried out by the Rapid Support Forces militia in Eastern Al-Jazeera.
The ministry stated in a statement on Wednesday that these attacks “targeted innocent, defenseless civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, and caused the displacement of thousands from their homes, constituting a blatant violation of the principles of international humanitarian law.”
The statement reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position on the necessity of preserving Sudan’s national institutions as the cornerstone of the state and the only path to ensure the country’s unity and integrity.
Cairo reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire and the implementation of the principles of the Jeddah Declaration to safeguard the capabilities of the Sudanese people, enabling a serious humanitarian response from all international parties and leading to a comprehensive political solution.
The statement added: “Egypt spares no effort, in cooperation with partners, to save the blood of the brotherly Sudanese people and help them emerge from their plight.”
