Sudan Events – Talal Mudathir
Minister of Animals Resources and Fisheries, Hagen Ibrahim Abdul Nabi rejected the decision of the President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council TSC Abdul Fatah Al-Burhan, to relieve him from his position.
Hafez said in a statement issued today, Sunday, that he does not recognize the decision because it was issued by an incompetent party and lacks constitutional legitimacy, as he put it.
Abdulnabi added that he was assigned to the position by a decision issued by Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, and that he was chosen for the position by the parties to the peace process that signed the Juba Peace Agreement in Sudan, in accordance with internal arrangements of the parties related to the distribution of 25% of the number of members of the Council of Ministers, which is the body that has the right to appoint and replace.
He also added that the President of the Sovereignty Council does not have any authority or constitutional authority to issue a decision to dismiss a member of the Council of Ministers, and that with this decision, he exposes the Juba Agreement, which was implemented by the State of South Sudan and the international guarantors, to the risk of complete collapse.
The former minister concluded his statement by renewing his commitment to performing his duty until a civil authority is established based on the constitutional legitimacy derived from the glorious December Revolution, as he put it.
