Complaints About Rising Consumer Prices

Sudan Events – Follow-Up
Citizens have raised concerns over the sharp rise in prices of basic goods, which has put essential items out of reach for many households. They attributed this to inconsistent market oversight, which has led to price variations. Sugar prices per kilogram range from 3,000 to 5,000 SDG, while a 5-kilogram bag costs between 15,000 and 25,000 SDG, depending on the region. The prices of cooking oil, lentils, rice, pasta, flour, tea, and other essentials have also surged, exacerbating the cost-of-living crisis across Sudan.
