Qatar Charity Distributes Food Baskets to Orphans in the Nile River State

Qatar Charity has begun distributing food aid to 7,669 orphans under its sponsorship in safe regions, starting with food baskets in the Sheikha Aisha Bint Hamad Al-Attiyah Orphanage in the Nile River State. The initiative received high appreciation from the orphans’ families and local authorities for the generosity of donors from Qatar.
The distribution event was attended by the Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Tehani Mirghani, and the Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid, Afaf Taj Al-Sir. Both praised the ongoing efforts of Qatari benefactors to support orphans and vulnerable groups in Sudan amid various humanitarian crises.
The Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid expressed gratitude for Qatar Charity’s extensive efforts in delivering food aid to orphans, while Awad Al-Karim Ali, the Executive Director of Al-Damer locality, recognized the distribution of food baskets under Sudan’s current exceptional circumstances as a significant contribution. He thanked the Qatari Emir, government, and people for their steadfast support for their Sudanese brothers, calling for continued aid for orphans and displaced people in the state.
Qatar Charity’s field teams plan to distribute food baskets to sponsored orphans across the Red Sea, Nile River, Kassala, Gedaref, and Northern States. Additionally, distributions will take place in the Sheikha Aisha Bint Hamad Al-Attiyah Orphanage in Nile River State, which stands as one of Qatar Charity’s pioneering projects providing care for orphans and their families.
The food distributions brought comfort and satisfaction among orphaned families, as the baskets included essential food items like sugar, flour, milk, rice, lentils, oil, and other staples according to the value of each sponsorship.
