Sudan Events – Follow-ups
In a spontaneous display, Eritrean and Sudanese citizens gathered in front of the presidential palace and on the streets of the Eritrean capital, Asmara, to welcome the President of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
They chanted slogans such as “One People, One Army.” Crowds surrounded Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and Al-Burhan in a scene that moved citizens to tears. The streets of Asmara were filled with people, transforming the city into an unprecedented display of emotional unity.
