Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The senior administration of the Zamzam displacement camp in North Darfur appealed to both the national and global human conscience, urging urgent action to save the lives of one million displaced persons in the camp. This follows the heavy artillery attack launched by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia on the camp for the fifth consecutive day, which has resulted in the deaths of dozens of displaced individuals and the injury of over 100 others.
In a statement, the camp administration said, “We, the displaced people of Zamzam, call out to your consciences. We appeal to your humanity after we have lost hope in those who could save more than one and a half million displaced people from the brutality of the ongoing shelling by the Rapid Support Forces militia for the fifth consecutive day.”
