Blinken Discusses the Situation in Sudan with Egyptian Foreign Minister

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s role in the ongoing events in Sudan and its efforts to expand humanitarian aid access to those in need in Sudan and to stop the war in the country.
U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that Secretary Blinken held a phone conversation on Wednesday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti, where they discussed the ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions.
The spokesperson added that Blinken emphasized the importance of ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches civilians in Gaza who are at risk, including through humanitarian pauses that would allow improved movement and distribution of aid.
