Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Security Committee of the Nile River State announced that Atbara Airport was attacked by a swarm of suicide drones early on Monday.
The security committee confirmed that the air defense, ground-based anti-aircraft systems, and electronic jamming devices successfully thwarted the attack, preventing the destruction of Atbara Airport’s infrastructure and downing all the attacking drones around the airport without any casualties or damage to property.
The committee pointed out that it is impossible for drones to penetrate the deep security of the Nile River State and be launched from within the state. It confirmed that the suicide drones were precisely targeted at Atbara Airport from a missile-launching platform located outside the state, with a range exceeding 500 kilometers.
