Sudan Events – Reports
On Tuesday, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia committed a large-scale massacre through artillery shelling targeting civilians in Karari locality, resulting in over 65 deaths and hundreds of injuries that overwhelmed local hospitals.
Khartoum Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza and all members of the state’s Security Committee visited the targeted areas, starting with the transportation hub in Block 17, where a rocket hit a passenger bus, killing all 22 passengers who were reduced to mere fragments. The governor also inspected other markets and visited the deceased and injured at Al-Naw Hospital.
The governor condemned the killing of unarmed civilians, accusing the militia of terrorizing residents to force them out of safe areas, enabling further killing, rape, and looting. He called on the international community and organizations to take responsibility and protect civilians, who are being directly targeted in their homes, markets, and healthcare facilities. He highlighted the militia’s deliberate attacks on crowded places during peak hours, such as transportation hubs and markets, to maximize casualties.
Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, Director-General of the Ministry of Health, stated that hospitals are still receiving fatalities and injuries. He praised healthcare workers for their tireless efforts to save lives and provide medical care.
