Two Policemen Killed in Pakistan Police Station Attack
Gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on a police station in northwestern Pakistan on Tuesday, killing at least two policemen and injuring three others before fleeing the scene, officials said.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred in Shangla city, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near the Afghan border. Police officer Nasir Khan reported that the injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and offered condolences to the victims’ families. He blamed the “Khawarij,” a term often used to refer to the Pakistani Taliban, for the attack but provided no further details.
