Government: 160 Colombian Mercenaries Participated in Fighting with Militia

Sudan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Harith Idris, revealed that 160 Colombian mercenaries participated in the fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces militia in Darfur.
The UN Security Council held a session on Thursday regarding the situation in Sudan.
Ambassador Harith Idris announced that Sudanese authorities had granted nearly 4,000 visas to humanitarian workers to enter the country and over 14,000 internal permits.
The Russian representative to the UN Security Council confirmed that peace in Sudan cannot be achieved without the participation of the Sudanese people.
The Chinese representative to the UN Security Council stated that efforts must be made to stop the fighting in Sudan, urging all parties in the conflict to prioritize the interests of the people.
The UK representative at the UN Security Council condemned the Rapid Support Forces’ attacks on the Zamzam camp for displaced persons in North Darfur.
The French representative at the UN Security Council also condemned the Rapid Support Forces’ attacks in North Darfur, the Nile Delta, and Khartoum.
