Sudan Events – Follow-up
The Higher Committee for Currency Exchange, after deliberation and assessing the current situation in the country to protect citizens’ rights, has decided to allow sufficient time for the completion of the currency exchange process.
Minister of Information Khalid Al-Iaysar stated that the committee decided to extend the currency exchange period for an additional week, concluding on December 30, 2024.
Al-Iaysar explained in a press statement that the committee had reviewed reports from the Central Bank of Sudan and security authorities about the progress of the exchange process in all targeted states. He noted that the operation has received a great response from the citizens over the past few days in the targeted states, where the exchange process began on December 10, except for the state of Sennar, where the exchange began on December 19 and will end on December 31 of the same month.
