Council of Ministers: Currency Replacement Process is a Step in the Right Direction

The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Osman Hussein, stated that the currency replacement process is proceeding according to the set guidelines and objectives, describing it as a step in the right direction. He added that the extension of the currency replacement period by one week is in response to the significant cash flow from companies, the private sector, and individuals.
During his visit to the Central Bank of Sudan in Port Sudan on Tuesday, and his meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Barai Sidiq, the minister reviewed the progress of the currency replacement process, including the requirements for replacement, preparation, and technical connectivity, as well as efforts by workers in assessing and evaluating various stages according to the plan and set objectives.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs expressed his gratitude to all the staff at the Central Bank of Sudan and various banks, praising the efforts of all those contributing to the currency replacement process. He emphasized that the replacement process is following the set guidelines and objectives, and that it represents a necessary transformation. He also highlighted the importance of technological transformation and the execution of financial transactions through electronic means.
He thanked citizens, organizations, and individuals for their large response to open accounts and move towards electronic transactions in line with requirements.
