Nile River Issues Emergency Order Regarding Currency

The Governor of the Nile River State, Dr. Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdelmajid, has issued an emergency order banning the possession and circulation of 500 and 1000-pound banknotes, which were withdrawn from circulation starting December 30th.

The emergency order mandates penalties for violators, including a five-year prison sentence.
