African Union Urged to Designate Militia as “Terrorist Organization”

Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Ali Yusuf, received a delegation from the African Media Union led by Abdullah Bilal, Vice President of the Union, in his office.
The delegation presented the minister with recommendations from the Union’s 12th International Forum, recently held in Cairo. Key recommendations included:
1. Full support for the Sudanese Armed Forces in their battle against the militias.
2. Urging the African Union to classify the rebel Rapid Support Forces as a terrorist organization.
3. A decision to establish Sudan as the headquarters for the regional center for training African journalists.
Bilal praised the Foreign Ministry’s efforts in defending Sudan’s sovereignty, stability, and security, and its clear support for the “Battle of Dignity.”
The minister affirmed the ministry’s readiness to support the Union in fulfilling its role and executing its programs in Africa and Sudan, aiming for genuine partnerships through journalist exchanges, forums, and training workshops.
He elaborated on key diplomatic efforts to support the Armed Forces in the “Battle of Dignity” to defeat the rebellious militia, achieve a just peace that ensures stability and security, and contribute to post-war reconstruction.
