Journalists Demand Ending the Syndicate’s Presence in the “Taqadom” Coordination

Sudan Events – Reports
Dozens of journalists in Sudan submitted a memorandum to the elected Journalists Syndicate, calling for an end to its involvement in the “Taqadom” civil forces coordination and for distancing the syndicate from any political affiliations.
A total of 100 members of the Journalists Syndicate signed the memorandum, which was also sent to the Syndicate’s president and executive office officials before an upcoming executive office meeting where the memorandum is expected to be discussed and resolved.
The signatories called for the Syndicate to refrain, in its “legal capacity,” from engaging in any political alliances or alignments, as is the case with its current participation in the “Taqadom” coordination. The memorandum also stressed that the syndicate should not participate in any future political alliances to maintain its neutrality, independence, and its role as an advocate for journalists’ rights.
