Finance Minister: We Have Overcome the Tough Phase and Have Sufficient New Currency

Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, announced that the government has passed the tough phase of managing the national economy. The Ministry of Finance has set clear spending priorities and made efforts to mobilize resources and increase revenues without imposing new taxes or fees.
During a briefing on the Cabinet’s decision regarding the review of the trade policy for car imports in Port Sudan, he assured that the economy’s performance for this year’s budget is heading in a positive direction, with salaries paid at 100%, priority given to pension payments, increased spending on health and education, ongoing support for displaced persons, and the purchase and distribution of free grain to deserving states.
The minister also confirmed the availability of adequate new currency, denying any currency printing crisis and emphasizing that the money spent so far is less than half of the available amount in the Central Bank of Sudan.
