The Energy Ministry Adopts New Fuel Import Standards

Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
The Director-General of Petroleum Facilities, Mohamed Awad Al-Khair, announced that the Ministry of Energy and Oil has adopted a new fuel specification.
Starting yesterday, the new specification replaces 90-octane gasoline with 91-octane gasoline. It also introduces low-sulfur diesel that meets globally accepted sulfur content standards.
This adjustment reflects the global trend toward reducing harmful emissions resulting from fuel combustion. The approved specification ensures better engine protection and longer lifespan, aligning with the latest fuel combustion technologies.
Additionally, the new standard provides improved fuel efficiency, ensuring a more cost-effective solution for consumers. It offers fuel quality that corresponds to the prices citizens pay, especially after fuel price liberalization.
It is worth noting that 95-octane gasoline (super gasoline) is also included in the new standard for companies capable of upgrading their infrastructure to handle this type of fuel.
