Sudan Events – Follow-up
The Sudanese Electricity Holding Company stated that the Merowe power plant was subjected to a brutal attack by militia using drones early on Thursday, which led to a fire in the plant’s transformers and its associated facilities, causing a partial outage in the area.
In a press statement, the company revealed that engineers, technicians, and workers at the plant immediately began assessing the extent of the damage. They confirmed that intensive efforts are underway to restore the plant to service as soon as possible, along with providing alternative power supplies to the affected areas.
