New Increase in Inflation Rate

The Consumer Price Index for December 2024 recorded an increase, reaching 3,753,310.45 points compared to 3,587,886.50 points in November, marking a rise of 16,523.95 points, or a monthly change rate of 4.61%, compared to 1.20% in November.

The Consumer Price Index for consumer and service goods reached 3,753,310.45 points for December 2024, compared to 1,303,391.10 points for December 2023, reflecting an increase of 2,449,919.35 points, with an annual change (inflation) rate of 187.83%. This means that the annual inflation rate increased by 187.83% compared to the previous year.

The change in prices for food and beverage items in December 2024 rose by 186.50% compared to the previous year.

The Consumer Price Index for urban areas reached 2,610,091.62 points for December 2024, compared to 1,009,956.47 points in December 2023, marking an increase of 1,601,135.14 points, with an annual change (inflation) rate of 158.62%. This reflects a 158.62% increase compared to the previous year, and a 207.71% increase in rural areas.

The highest inflation rate was recorded in Al-Qadarif State at 458.62%, while the lowest was in West Kordofan at 67.88%.
