The Governor of Darfur, Minni Arko Minawi, announced that the armed forces and the joint forces of the movements managed to “break the power” of a militia unit belonging to the Rapid Support Forces, which included hundreds of combat vehicles led by Abdul Rahim Dagalo.
Minawi said in a post on Facebook, “The appearance of Abdul Rahim Dagalo in the battles today on the Desert Axis confirms the intentions of this militia to control the northern Darfur regions and open the desert road linking them to Libya.”
He added, “But, thanks to God, your armed forces, the joint forces, and the popular resistance were able to break the power of a military force consisting of more than 546 vehicles loaded with military equipment, personally led by the criminal Hemeti’s brother. We congratulate our forces on this great victory and affirm that the end of the militias is near.”
