Destruction of 72 Billion Sudanese Pounds in the Northern State

The Director of the Central Bank of Sudan in Dongola, and the rapporteur of the Currency Replacement Committee in the Northern State, Fatih al-Rahman Malik, stated that the state had replaced 112 billion and 618 million pounds, including about 40 million pounds in thousand-pound notes, which are still being sorted and counted.

He pointed out that 25,265 counterfeit banknotes were discovered, equivalent to 16 million pounds, and 72 billion pounds were destroyed. He revealed the opening of 59,000 accounts.
During the meeting of the State Currency Replacement Committee, chaired by the Northern State Governor, Abdin Awad Allah, on Sunday, it was confirmed that the process of opening accounts is continuing.
The meeting discussed the performance of the committee during the currency replacement period.

The committee praised the significant efforts made by the committee and all related parties, which resulted in the successful completion of the currency replacement process smoothly and easily.
