“Al-Qassam”: We are Engaged in Intense Clashes with Israeli Forces Near Jenin
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, stated on Wednesday that their fighters are engaged in intense clashes with Israeli forces in the towns of Arraba and Fahma, west of the troubled city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
They also announced the detonation of an explosive device targeting an Israeli army bulldozer near the Jenin Cinema in the city center.
The Al-Qassam Brigades did not disclose further details.
On Tuesday, the Israeli army launched a military operation in Jenin, claiming that its goal is to thwart armed activities, while health authorities reported ten fatalities as a result of the Israeli operation.
Earlier on Wednesday, Hamas accused the Palestinian Authority of participating in the Israeli attack on the Jenin refugee camp.
Palestinian security forces had carried out a weeks-long operation in the Jenin camp, which they described as a mission “to maintain security and order” before the recent Israeli assault.
The Israeli operation in Jenin began two days after a ceasefire agreement came into effect in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of Israeli and Palestinian prisoners.
