Saudi Crown Prince Welcomes Syrian President in Riyadh

Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman received Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa in Riyadh on Sunday, marking the latter’s first international visit since his inauguration.

This trip represents Al-Sharaa’s first official foreign visit just days after being appointed as the transitional president of Syria. The Syrian administration chose Saudi Arabia as its initial destination, following a high-level visit to Riyadh in early January 2025, which included the foreign and defense ministers as well as the intelligence chief.
