Sudanese minister for Minerals Mohamed Bashir Abdallah and the Russian ambassador Andre Chernovol to the country on Thursday reviewed in a joint meeting areas of cooperation between the Sudan and Russian particularly in the domain of investment in the extraction investment and how to remedy challenges that face companies operating in a situation similar to the current status quo
In the meeting attended by the Director General of the geological research department and he executive director at the ministry Ahmed Haroon Al tom, the Minister underlined the depth of the Sudanese Russian cooperation in the fields of minerals extraction and mining, as shown by the Russian companies’ operation in the field of mining
The two sides are also agreed to further development for the scope of economic partnership between the two countries.
The minister commended the supportive role played by Russian for the Sudan in the regional and international forums, expressing his understanding for the challenges facing the Russian companies operating in the domain of mining in the country
The Russian ambassador has meanwhile stressed the importance of the economic partnership between the two countries, in particular after the government of Sudan granted the Russian companies the two mining concession squares in the Red Sea and in Nahr Nil states.
