A drone launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted the Barbar power substation located in the Shaqla area, south of the city of Barbar.
The drone strike caused damage to one of the station’s main transformers.
Mamoun Abdullah, the Acting Executive Director of Barbar, inspected the substation — accompanied by the locality’s legal advisor and the local electrical engineer — after the attack, which impacted one of the main transformers. They condemned the RSF militia’s targeting of public service facilities, emphasizing that such actions reinforce the notion that their war is directed against civilians.
They received a detailed briefing on the attack and the extent of the damage to the main transformer.
The station’s staff are making continuous efforts to carry out the necessary repairs.
It is also noted that the locality has provided material support to the station’s workers.
