Egypt: We Support Sudan’s Security and Stability

Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty held a phone call on Thursday with Sudan’s new Foreign Minister, Ambassador Omar Mohamed Ahmed Siddiq, to congratulate him on assuming his new position and to discuss the prospects of bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdel Aaty emphasized the deep-rooted historical and brotherly relations between the two nations and peoples. He reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Sudan’s security, stability, unity, and territorial integrity. He also stressed Egypt’s solidarity with Sudan during this critical period and its commitment to engaging with regional and international efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Sudanese people.

For his part, Sudanese Foreign Minister Ambassador Omar Siddiq expressed his deep appreciation for the kind gesture of the call following his appointment. He voiced his great respect for the bilateral relations between the two countries and Egypt’s ongoing efforts to support Sudan. The two ministers agreed to intensify communication and consultations in the coming period.
