Jibril on the Anniversary of the El Fasher Massacre: “We Will Avenge the Martyrs Against the Scoundrels”

Sudan’s Finance Minister, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim Mohamed, who also heads the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), said the painful anniversary of the assault on El Fasher, also known as Abu Zakariya, being marked today commemorates an extraordinary epic of resilience and bravery unparalleled in history.

In a statement marking the first anniversary of the fall of El Fasher, he said:

“Women and men endured hardship and adversity, standing firm despite their scarce resources, sustained by an unwavering belief in the justice of their cause and a determination against which the weapons of aggression were shattered.”

Jibril renewed his pledge to the people of the occupied city of El Fasher to seek retribution for its fallen residents.

“We pledge to the people of occupied El Fasher that we will avenge our righteous martyrs against the scoundrels who committed the most horrific acts of mass killing before the eyes of the world. We will not rest until our forces reach El Fasher and every inch of Sudanese territory defiled by the forces of aggression,” he said.
