Sudan: Abu Dhabi Regime’s Statement is Pitiful and Ridiculous

Sudan Events – Agencies

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to Sudan’s sovereign decision to sever its relations with Abu Dhabi as “pitiful and laughable.”

In a statement on Thursday, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the UAE’s statement reflects an astonishing disregard for the international laws and conventions that govern diplomatic relations between nations. It also contains a baseless attack on the Sudanese people, who have a rich history and a deep-rooted civilization, as well as significant contributions in supporting their brothers in various fields.

The Ministry emphasized that the UAE statement provides further evidence of the extreme measures the Abu Dhabi regime has taken to interfere in Sudanese affairs in a crude manner, reflecting a state of severe detachment. The statement calls for virtues that it has never practiced.

The Ministry continued, “The world is currently witnessing the escalation of state-sponsored terrorism by the Abu Dhabi regime against the Sudanese people, with direct involvement in targeting civilians, infrastructure, and vital facilities through various types of drones and lethal weapons, following the failure of proxy war through the hired terrorist militia, despite its perpetration of atrocities and violations. Yet, the statement praises the aid provided by the UAE to Sudan, which has been outweighed by the material losses inflicted by the destruction of all basic infrastructure and the looting of citizens’ properties, not to mention the loss of tens of thousands of innocent lives, rapes, displacement, and the destruction of the means of life.”

The Ministry further added, “The statement conveniently forgets Sudan’s earlier role in helping to establish the United Arab Emirates when it was a project in the late 1960s. After the UAE gained its independence, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, the founder of the UAE, relied on Sudanese expertise to establish the state’s system in various fields, particularly in the armed forces, administration, judiciary, engineering, education, sports, and media.”
