
A government source in Khartoum State revealed to Sudan Tribune that approximately 117 new mass graves have been documented so far across the three cities of the capital, as existing cemeteries have become full and expanded into surrounding areas.
A second source from the State Ministry of Health, who requested anonymity, confirmed to Sudan Tribune that the number of deaths caused by diseases and epidemics in recent months has reached around 3,000 people.
The source clarified that the number of deaths resulting from diseases, epidemics, and other health conditions is known. However, he noted that the number of deaths caused by the ongoing conflict in the capital since the outbreak of the war remains unknown.
Meanwhile, an official in the Khartoum State Government told Sudan Tribune that the war in Khartoum has led to the creation of new burial sites. He confirmed that dozens of bodies have been buried in homes and on the streets, many of which remain unidentified and unaccounted for.
