
U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce announced that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone call on Thursday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
According to a U.S. State Department press release, the two ministers discussed regional security issues, including efforts to end violence in Syria.
They also discussed diplomatic engagement with Iran, “U.S.-Saudi cooperation to ensure the security of the Red Sea, and efforts to end the fighting in Sudan.”
The statement added that Secretary Rubio and Prince Faisal also discussed ongoing cooperation to strengthen U.S.-Saudi relations.
