Injuries and Housing Collapse in Sudanese Refugee Camp in Chad

Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds in the Adré camp for Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad caused several injuries among the refugees, as well as the collapse of a number of shelters.

A Sudanese refugee told Darfur24 that the camp witnessed heavy rainfall along with violent wind gusts, resulting in injuries to four refugees who were transported to the field hospital operated by Doctors Without Borders.

He noted that the injuries were caused by the collapse of shelters over the refugees and roofs being torn off by the strong winds.

Local authorities, in collaboration with humanitarian organizations working in the camp, are currently assessing the extent of the damage and providing urgent aid to those affected.
