Mount and De Ligt Pleased with Manchester United’s Preparations for the New Season

Mason Mount and Matthijs de Ligt, Manchester United’s duo, praised their team’s preparations for the upcoming season in the United States.
The pair agreed that being exposed to a new climate and environment served as the perfect start to the 2025–2026 season.
Mount told Manchester United’s official channel in an interview:
“Yes, things are going well so far. This is our first visit (to the U.S.), so we’ve had the chance to look around a bit. The training facilities are amazing, the weather is very hot, and on top of that, we’re getting a different kind of training.”
He added:
“Everything has been great so far, and the players are putting in a lot of effort… We had a long break—just over five weeks—it felt really long. I think after about two weeks, you start to feel the urge to get back to training.”
He continued:
“It was good to focus on resting, just relaxing and recovering, and then gradually building up again and preparing for the first day back.”
He noted:
“We were told from the start that it was going to be tough, so we had to be ready for it.”
The English player said:
“Looking back at the end of last season, it was positive for me to regain fitness, to be able to play and finish the season, to score some goals, and to be back with the team and my teammates—that’s the most important thing.”
He concluded:
“We’re all in this together, and I think it’s important to spend this time training as a group… but yes, personally I feel really good right now.”
For his part, Dutch defender De Ligt said:
“Things are going well, and the team is training hard… but it’s a bit different with the heat and the new environment. However, the facilities are really good. Yes, it’s a great feeling.”
The Dutch defender explained:
“Ball training under the guidance of Rúben Amorim… I think both types of training are important. We saw in the Premier League last season how fit every team was, and that’s really a crucial factor.”
