Justice Minister Abdallah Mohamed Darf urged UN Human Rights Expert on Sudan, Radhouane Nouicer, to obtain information from accurate sources and share it with the Sudanese government.
In statements on Monday following his meeting with Nouicer, the Minister expressed the Sudanese government’s desire to end the mission of the international fact-finding committee in Sudan, emphasizing that the government possesses multiple mechanisms to protect civilians and ensure human rights, which was explained to the expert during the meeting.
He added: “We requested that the Human Rights Expert rely on neutral and credible sources to ensure the accuracy of information and enhance cooperation between Sudan and international human rights bodies.”
He continued, “We stressed to the expert that any reports or statements must be based on precise and detailed information, especially concerning trials. We consider general claims without sufficient details to be unacceptable.”
The Minister explained that the government had hoped the United Nations would provide substantial support for the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the “terrorist militia,” but it only contributed 16%, leaving the Sudanese government and people to cover the rest.
He also called on the United Nations to condemn countries that violate international treaties regarding the rights of Sudanese refugees and stressed the importance of protecting them from repeated assaults in host countries.
The Minister demanded the classification of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as a terrorist group and called on the international community to clearly and explicitly condemn Emirati support for the militia.
