Recommendation Submitted to Sovereignty Council on Restoring the Constitutional Court

The National Judicial Service Commission has submitted a recommendation to the Sovereignty Council calling for the Constitutional Court to resume operations.

On Thursday, the Commission held an emergency meeting for 2025 at the Judicial Authority headquarters in Port Sudan, chaired by Chief Justice and Commission Chair Mawlana Abdelaziz Fath Al-Rahman Abdeen. The meeting was attended by First Deputy Chief Justice Mawlana Enas Mohamed Abdel-Latif, Deputy Chief Justice Munir Mohamed Al-Hassan Babiker, and Commission members including Minister of Justice Abdullah Mohamed Dirf, Minister of Finance Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, and Professor Al-Tayeb Markaz, Dean of the University of Khartoum’s Faculty of Law.

The meeting discussed the return of the Constitutional Court to operation, and the Commission submitted its recommendation to the Sovereignty Council.
