Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Al-Tayeb Idris has directed the formation of a committee of partners within the Unified Gold Export Window to identify obstacles, propose solutions, and transfer the experience to Khartoum State in order to strengthen capacities in the gold sector. He stressed that Sudan possesses vast mineral wealth that qualifies it to lead the industry in the region.

During his inspection of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization’s procedures at the Unified Gold Export Window, the Prime Minister called for the rehabilitation of the gold refinery with a set deadline of January, underlining the need for serious work and cooperation among all stakeholders to boost the national economy.

Rahba Saeed Abdullah, Director of the Standards and Metrology Organization, provided a detailed briefing on the agency’s role in hallmarking and testing gold, as well as the modern equipment introduced during the war to regulate gold exports.

Dr. Idris emphasized the importance of the agency’s role in strengthening confidence in Sudanese gold exports, improving quality, and supporting government efforts to organize and develop the gold sector. He affirmed that the government would continue to support both the agency and the unified window.

He also praised the efficiency of procedures at the Gold Export Window and instructed a full digital transformation of operations, commending the efforts of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization and the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company.
