Energy Ministry: Militia Targets Electricity and Fuel Facilities in El-Merkhayat, Qerri, and Khartoum Refinery

The Ministry of Energy has condemned the terrorist operations carried out by the Rapid Support Forces militia, which on Tuesday morning targeted key facilities of the ministry, including the El-Merkhayat power station and the Khartoum Refinery. The attacks, carried out using drones, focused on the control center, meters, LPG storage tanks, and fuel pipelines, in addition to the Qerri-3 power station.
The ministry said these repeated assaults demonstrate that the militia is deliberately targeting Sudanese citizens by disrupting essential services such as electricity and fuel. It further noted that the targeted sites were undergoing maintenance works intended to restore vital services to residents of Khartoum State.
The ministry added that last week the militia had also attacked the Heglig oil field and airport in a similar fashion, an assault that left five people dead.
