Constitutional Court President: Resumption of Court’s Work Marks an Advanced Step Toward the Rule of Law

Member of the Sovereignty Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Shams al-Din Kabashi, was briefed on the legal role of the Constitutional Court as an institution dedicated to upholding justice.

This came during his meeting in Port Sudan with the President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Dr. Wahbi Mohamed Mukhtar, who stressed that the meeting highlighted the importance of the Court as a state body and a pillar of the justice system. He underscored that upholding the rule of law and reinforcing state authority is of paramount importance, particularly in the current delicate circumstances. He added that the Court’s resumption of duties after a four-year hiatus constitutes a significant step toward strengthening legal frameworks, oversight, and the supremacy of the law.
