Bahrain Pledges Support for Sudan at the UN Security Council

On the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly, Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem met with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, whose country currently serves as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

The meeting was marked by a spirit of positivity and mutual understanding, with both sides agreeing to continue constructive cooperation, reinforcing the historic bonds of friendship between the two nations.

Al-Zayani affirmed that Bahrain’s government and people stand firmly with Sudan, expressing readiness to provide all necessary support during this critical period. This includes backing Sudan’s positions at the Security Council and extending humanitarian assistance.

Discussions also touched on Sudan’s post-war future, particularly reconstruction and development.

Minister Salem expressed Sudan’s confidence in Bahrain’s wise leadership and the significant role it can play, stressing the importance of coordination at all levels in the current phase.
