Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem met Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s 80th session.
The Austrian minister expressed her country’s concern for Sudan and the impact of the ongoing war, especially the humanitarian consequences. She noted that Sudan is not receiving the level of international attention it deserves.
Salem highlighted the strong, historic diplomatic ties between the two nations and reaffirmed Sudan’s openness to cooperation with Austria and other European states.
He also briefed his Austrian counterpart on recent developments, including the formation of a civilian government, reiterating Sudan’s commitment to greater engagement and collaboration.
