Burhan: military men don’t betray their homeland

Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces, has commended the courage and bravery displayed by commander of the 15th Infantry Division of the Sudanese army, Major General Omar Siddiq, who martyred recently in Geneina, western Sudan
Gen Burhan added in a speech before the extended family and a group of military officers, colleagues of the late general that Major General Omar remained holding to his positions standing brave despite the depletion of the military supplies, and that despite all attempts by the rebels to lure him, using to that end money, and pushing him to surrender, have failed.
Burhan said he considered the martyrdom of Major General Siddiq a personification of bravery and it was a martyrdom of brave men who stick to their principles.
He said the late general chose a stand that would remain an honour for all militarymen in the army
He said his position martyrdom shows without any doubt that Sudanese army would not succumb to blackmailing or be weakened by any bidding. He said it also showed that the Sudanese army men do not betray their homeland.
Burhan wished at the end of his speech that Allah would compensate Sudanese people and offer them stability and return security to them, and that this rebellion that impacted the Sudan and Sudanese people would end soon.
He expressed his prayers that Allah would hasten soon the destruction of these aggressors” so that Sudan would return to its security, stability and well-being.
Burhan had visited on Saturday Merowe Air Base in northern Sudan and from there visited the town of Gurair where he offered condolences to the family and colleagues of the late e commander of the 15th Infantry Division, Major General Omar Al-Siddiq.
Burhan is due to leave Sudan on Sunday for Djibouti where he is to brief heads of state on the developments in Sudan and the impact of the war waged by the Rapid Support Militia against the Sudanese army since mid-April.
