Senior official at the Civil Aviation Authority CAA has revealed that joint committee between Sudan and the ICAO Regional Office in the Middle East will continue meetings, that reached 17 meetings aimed to deliberate on taking a decision to open the eastern airspace, in the context of efforts of the Civil Aviation Authority CAA and Sudan Airports Company to operate several airports, in Kasala in eastern Sudan, Dongola and Meroe in the north, and Damazin Airport in the south.
The official affirmed in a statement to “Baladna Aviation” that all the standard requirements are provided.
He expressed hope that efforts exerted to culminate with success which will help reduce the challenge facing travel through Port Sudan Airport, located in remote area in eastern Sudan, vis-à-vis other states of the country.
