The Royal United Services Institute for defense and Security Studies (RUSI) organized in London on Thursday, the oldest defense and Security Research Center in the world, an important seminar, the first of its kind since the outbreak of the war in Sudan, brought together a number of Sudanese journalists with British officials and experts.
The meeting discussed the current situation in Sudan and ways to enhance the stability of the state and protect its institutions from disintegration, while reviewing international experiences in building professional institutions capable of resilience..
The editor-in-chief of Al-Ahdath newspaper, Mr. Adel al-Baz, said in a private statement that the seminar provided “an integrated narrative about the Sudanese war”, and considered it “a historic step being the first direct meeting between British officials and Sudanese journalists since the outbreak of the conflict”.
For his part, Professor Osman Mirghani, a writer in the Middle East newspaper who participated in the meeting, proved the importance of listening to the Sudanese story from all sides to a deeper understanding of the crisis, stressing that supporting state institutions is the key to preserving the Sudanese state.
