Sudan’s Sovereignty Council Decries Global Silence on Militia Crimes

Sudan expressed its outrage over the continued international silence regarding war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia against civilians in El Fasher and other Sudanese cities.

In a statement on Sunday, the Sovereignty Council described the acts as “systematic killings based on tribal grounds, ethnic cleansing, and deliberate targeting of public service infrastructure, IDP camps, and shelters, representing a clear challenge to UN Security Council resolutions and disregard for international humanitarian law.”

The statement emphasized that these crimes necessitate international action to help Sudan eradicate this terrorist militia and hold its leaders and supporters accountable.

The council added that the bloody attack yesterday would only strengthen the Sudanese people’s resolve to eliminate the militia that destabilizes security in the region and the country.
